Greg Couture Benefit

ERA Wilder Realty hosted a live auction on September 25th to benefit Greg Couture, the husband of one of our Lexington agents, and his family. This very successful event was held at the exquisite Kingston Harbor clubhouse on Lake Murray in Lexington. Guests were treated to Hudson’s BBQ and other snacks donated by CiCi’s Pizza, along with hot dogs donated by The Lunch Spot. The bidding began shortly after 7PM and went well into the night as The Auction Group auctioned off over 200 items donated by people across Richland and Lexington Counties and as far away as New York. Every single item in the auction was 100% donated allowing all of the proceeds to go directly to The Greg Couture Fund. The ERA Wilder family pulled together an incredible event in a very short period of time and raised over $30,000. Eddie Wilder even performed a running flip into the pool for the cause. Once the bidding was over, guests continued to dance around the pool until midnight.

Not only were all of the items up for auction donated, but so was the time and work of The Auction Group, Troy Fite (our DJ for the night), Southern Valet, Aun & McKay, and the many volunteers at ERA Wilder Realty. Greg and Lisa’s families donated the food from Hudson’s and helped us stock the bar and the developers of Kingston Harbor allowed us to host this event free of charge in their million dollar facilities.

Greg and Lisa Couture could not have been more grateful for the time, energy, and money that was donated on their behalf. They still have quite a fight ahead of them as Greg is battling Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer and Cardiomyopathy. Greg is a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the family belongs to Corpus Christi Church. Both Greg and Lisa have touched many lives and have always given back to others, so it is only fitting that we give back to them during their time of need. This was a sudden and shocking diagnosis that has turned their lives upside down, but it has also shown them what huge hearts people have.
